Although most people choose therapy only because they are struggling in some way, the choice always creates the potential for greater fulfillment or peace in our lives. Mistakes, failures, losses, conflict –all of the difficulties we try to avoid—can actually place us on a truer path toward happiness. The path may be steep and long, but almost always results in a better view of oneself and others.

"The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our
ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers."
- M. Scott Peck
